Tony and Peter at Sunstate Hobie had the package ready for me to go and I must admit at just how easy the Pro Angler 12 was to load onto my Mitsubishi Pajero for the first time.
I did buy a Rack and Roll with the extend a pole yesterday to use to load and unload the PA but I am now thinking I don't need it as it is so easy to load from the rear of the Vehicle. However I suppose it would be best to keep and use the Rack and Roll as there is not always access to the rear of the vehicle at some launch spots. I was initially going to buy a Lowrance Fish finder to go with my PA12 as the Pro Angler range is Lowrance Ready but I thought I had a perfectly good 500 series Humminbird Combo here that I use on my WS Tarpon 120. So it will be shared between the two kayaks as at this stage I intend to keep my T120.
So I bought the Humminbird adapter kit which enables me to fit it to the Lowrance Ready system on the PA12. I also went for the Hobie Battery Block and a Hobie Ram 2 Mount kit to fit the fish finder head unit to the sideboards of the PA12. As well as an extra Hobie diamond base to allow me to fit my hand held Garmin GPS72 to the sideboards.
As far as rod holders go I intend to stick Scotty Mounts as I have used Scotty for years on all my other kayaks and for this install I will be using the raised Scotty mounts with Scotty Power Lock Rod holders. At the rear of the PA12 I have bought the Hobie Rod Extension tubes to give my rods extra clearance from the waters edge, More on the install soon, so stay tuned...
