Garry Fitzgerald, the organiser of the event had this to say recently.
"With the recent flooding in south east Queensland, our lakes received a major flush out with some fish being washed downstream into the Brisbane River below the lake, particularly the big Bass that Wivenhoe is renown for. This in mind I will be opening the Wivenhoe event up for competitors to be able to also fish in the 50km of Brisbane River downstream to Kholo Bridge. The feedback so far has been phenomenal and I’m sure we will fill the 150 slots quickly when nomination forms are released. If you would like to enter yourself or even sponsor a team, be sure to contact Garry sooner rather than later to reserve a spot. As in the past, monies raised by this event go towards restocking native fish species into local waterways. The 2011 dates are set down for September 10 – 11 with activities starting on the 9th."
Garry would like feedback on the past events so if you have some thoughts go here to let him know.
