Wivenhoe Dam, September 2007

Myself and a good friend of mine, Steven went to Wivenhoe Dam today for our first combined fish together at Wivenhoe out of Hayes inlet. Last week both of us joined up at the Brisbane Valley Sailing Club as Associate members .This gains us a key to a locked area at Wivenhoe which is close to the best fishing at Wivenhoe.

After a while I was using every swear word I could muster as I was getting cheesed  off, as I continued to have double hook up after double hook up of catfish.

Yet within 3 metres of me Steven was having a time of his life.

Steven and I lost count of the bass he caught, one after another, all Monsters of the deep. He caught at least 6 over 50cm and 1 at 54cm and his giant of the day at 56cm. A truley awesome fish

I caught about 10 catfish and I managed 3 bass, 1 at 28 cm, 37cm and a very fat 45 cm.

Lure of the day was a black/purple Jackall from Steven and I was catching them on a purple Cultiva Miravibe.

We also caught them on some Jackall blades and my best of the day I caught on a bright purple slider grub.

Well done to Steven, an absolute awesome effort on his part, I was so glad to share his memorable fishing moments even though I was envious as hell.
