Rod Tube to suit Ocean Kayak Prowler Ultra 4.7
The Rod tube very light and is very strong, 2000mm long and it is designed to mounted inside the center hatch and run the full length of the kayak almost to the rear. The Tube is sealed at the end to maintain a waterproof central hatch area. Once installed the rod tube will give you storage for up to two fully rigged fishing rods
The kit comes with the rod tube, SS screws and washers, Rod Tube Gasket and detailed instructions. You will also require a 86mm hole saw to install this or I suppose you could do the multiple hole drill way if you do not have access to such a hole saw.
Basically you will need to find the center of the area where the 4 brass inserts are inside the center hatch, drill the 86mm hole and then grind out the top and bottom of the hole so as you can install the tube, this needs to be done as you can not lay the tube flat in front of where the tube will be inserted. Next position the adhesive gasket in place. It is recommended that the tube be inserted with a twisting action using silicone spray if this helps. Once the tube is fully inserted the holes in the flange will line up with the brass inserts that are in place on the rear wall of the center hatch. Put the screws in place with the washers, tighten them and you have a rod tube for the Ultra.
Sounds easy...
