Instead I have been building up brownie points with my wife doing the projects around the house so when conditions are more favourable and a little wamer I will be right to go.
I have also become totally hooked on trying to make my own lures from timber and I am starting to collect a few of the timber lures mainly from Australian lure makers. I have been frequenting a Lure Collecting site that has a number of members that are bring back the art of making lures from timber, the site is Lure Lovers.
The membership of this forum is very welcoming and friendly and are only too happy to help and pass on their knowledge to others. This afternoon I went to Bunnings and bought a metre length of timber, enough to make over 50 lures. So I started on another two minnow style lures when I came home. Its a great way to pass some time, carving and sanding to make the shape of the lure. I made myself I few rods a few years back and I use them everytime I go fishing, it means alot to me when I catch a fish on a rod that I made, I hope to have that same feeling soon when I start to use the lures I have made. If you what to have a go at making lures yourself you can find the instruction here
